Apr 21st - Maryland Toleration Act passed, allowing all freedom of worship
May 19th - An Act declaring England a Commonwealth is passed by the Long Parliament. England would be a republic for the next eleven years.
Jun 1st - Czar Aleksei throws out English merchants from Moscow
Sep 2nd - The Italian city of Castro is completely destroyed by the forces of Pope Innocent X, ending the Wars of Castro.
